Privacy Policy

1. Who We Are

Face2FaceAI is an independent Android application developed by Stan Schwartz. You can contact us at dev@face2faceai.com.

2. What Data We Collect

The Face2FaceAI app itself collects no personal data and transmits nothing to our servers. Specifically:

• Face images and photos: Processed entirely on your device using on-device AI models. No image or portion of an image is ever transmitted outside your device by Face2FaceAI.
• Biometric data: Not collected. Face keypoints and expression data computed during processing exist only in memory during the session and are never stored or transmitted.
• Account information: We do not require an account to use the app. No email address, name, or profile information is collected.

The following data is stored locally on your device only, never transmitted to us:

• App settings — your preferences such as haptic feedback, default face detection mode, default finalization mode, and BBox size setting.
• Gallery Favorites — file paths to images you have starred. The image files themselves remain in your device gallery; we store only a reference to their location.
• Subscription status cache — a locally cached record of your current subscription tier (Freemium or Premium), used to allow the app to function correctly while offline. This is derived from Google Play Billing and refreshed when you are online.
• Glossary tooltip history — a record of which help tooltips you have already seen, so they are shown only once.

3. Third-Party SDKs

The app integrates the following third-party services, each of which has its own privacy practices:

Google AdMob (Freemium users only)
Freemium users see an interstitial advertisement before finalizing output. AdMob may collect device identifiers (including the Android Advertising ID), IP address, and interaction data to serve and measure ads. You can opt out of personalized advertising at any time in your device Settings → Privacy → Ads. For more information, see Google's Privacy Policy. Premium subscribers do not see ads; however, the AdMob SDK is initialized at app startup regardless of subscription tier.

Google Play Billing
Subscription purchases are processed entirely by Google Play. Face2FaceAI does not receive or store your payment card information. Purchase history and billing data are governed by Google Payments Privacy Notice.

TensorFlow Lite and ONNX Runtime
The on-device AI inference libraries (TensorFlow Lite for face detection and ONNX Runtime for expression transfer) run entirely locally. They do not transmit data externally.

4. Google Colab Notebook

The free LivePortrait expression swap notebook available on GitHub runs in Google Colab. Images you upload to a Colab session are processed within that session and deleted when the session ends. No images are transmitted to Face2FaceAI. Colab sessions are governed by Google's Privacy Policy.

5. This Website

face2faceai.com is a static site hosted on GitHub Pages. We do not operate analytics, tracking scripts, or cookies on this website. GitHub may collect standard server access logs (IP address, browser type, referring page) as part of hosting; see GitHub's Privacy Statement.

6. Children's Privacy

Face2FaceAI is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect any information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided personal information to us, please contact us at dev@face2faceai.com and we will take steps to delete it.

7. Your Rights (EEA, UK, and California Residents)

Because Face2FaceAI does not collect personal data, most data subject rights requests (access, erasure, portability) do not apply to data held by us — there is no personal data for us to provide, correct, or delete. If you believe we hold any personal data about you, please contact us and we will respond within 30 days.

For data collected by Google (AdMob, Play Billing, Colab), please direct requests to Google via their privacy tools at myaccount.google.com/data-and-privacy.

8. Data Retention

All data stored by the app (settings, favorites references, subscription cache, tooltip history) remains on your device until you uninstall the app or clear app data. Uninstalling the app removes all locally stored app data.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected in an updated effective date above. Continued use of the app or website after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy. We recommend checking this page periodically.
